The asin_metadata data set delivers an ever-growing set of metadata fields at a variant/standalone level to allow for analysis of changes of various product attributes. Importantly, this data set also includes variant/parent mapping. While our sales_estimtes data set provides critical sales and revenue values, that data set also includes some limited metadata, including review count, seller id, price, etc. However when aggregated at the parent ASIN level, the data has some caveats, such as using median price, vs exact price.

The goal of the asin_metadata set is to grow over time to be the most comprehensive set of actionable metadata. As new attributes are proven to be valuable to our customers, we will work to collect and include them in the data set.

Because a given ASIN might fall under multiple parent ASINs during a reporting period, this data set will include multiple records for an ASIN to represent each parent relationship.
