Keyword Data is a weekly grain data set that indicates the estimated number of unique searches for a particular keyword. We normally delivery all keywords with at least 1000 searches per week, however this threshold can be lowered as required. This data set is generated approximately 7 days after the end of the evaluation period, however delivery cadence can vary due to several factors.

Plurals, misspellings, and additional characters are all treated as separate search terms. E.g. “hat” and “hats” are two separate records. Each keyword originates from Amazon’s Brand Analytics report as a unique searched keyword.

As part of this data set we also provide a value of “Dominant Category”. While a keyword does not have a category defined by Amazon, we return the dominant category of the top 10 ASINs resulting from a keyword search. While this value could change over time, we find that it is a fairly accurate representation of customer behavior across categories. When defining this value, the default is Parent Category. If a parent category is not available, the top sub-category is returned.
