📌 How to use this template
1️⃣ Pt 1: Self-Reflection
- Step 1: Identify the Jungle Principle(s) that you want to improve upon.
- Keeping relevancy and impact to your role in mind, click the button corresponding to the Jungle Principle you would like to develop. Once selected, a list of relevant skills will populate in the database. These skills and behaviors are reflected within our principles.
- Step 2: Reflect on how this skill currently shows up for you.
- Review the “I am currently” column to assess how each skill shows up for you.
- For example, selecting “foundation” within a skill will populate a description in the next column. Use these descriptions to evaluate the level at which you currently demonstrate the skill.
- Step 3: Reflect on where you want to be within the next 6 months or year.
- Using the “I want to be…” column, select the level you aim to achieve. As with Step 2, a description will populate in the next column so that you can more easily identify where you want to develop.
- Step 4: Identify your areas of development.
- Check the box for each skill you want to prioritize and focus on. The “Development Action Items” database will automatically reflect your selection.
2️⃣ Part 2: Action Planning
- Step 5: Create an action plan [with your manager]
- As part of your development conversation with your manager, review each skill that you’ve identified as a focus area. Together, you will discuss the impact of the skill on your role and how you can develop through exposure, experiences, and education.
